LUL – NOISE LEVELS ON THE VICTORIA LINE – RE-BALLOT RESULT
Further to Head Office Circular NP/42/25, dated 5th March 2025, your NEC has considered a report from Civica Election Services received today and resolved as follows:
That we note the ballot result for strike action on the Victoria Line is as follows:-
Number of Members eligible to vote 156
Total number of votes cast 76
Number voting "Yes" 74
Number voting "No" 2
Spoilt Papers 0
Votes cast in the ballot as a % of individuals who were entitled to vote 48.72%
Yes votes for strike action as a % of members entitled to vote 47.44%
Further we note the ballot result for action short of strike action is as follows:-
Number of Members eligible to vote 156
Total votes cast 76 Number voting "Yes" 75
Number voting "No" 1
Spoilt Papers 0
Votes cast in the ballot as a % of individuals who were entitled to vote 48.72%
Yes votes for action short of strike action as a % of members entitled to vote 48.08%
That we note the above results do not meet the thresholds imposed by the anti-trade union laws.
We instruct the General Secretary to obtain an updated report from the Lead Officer.
Members, branches, and regional councils to be informed.
I am acting in line with this instruction. Please bring this circular to the attention of all relevant members.
Please note that he current mandate for industrial action on the Victoria Line in furtherance of our dispute regarding track noise expires on 14th April 2025.
