LUL – NOISE LEVELS ON THE VICTORIA LINE – RE-BALLOT

 

Further to Head Office Circular NP/269/24, dated 12^th November 2024, your NEC has considered an updated report from your lead officer, noting that RMT currently has a live mandate for industrial action on the Victoria Line in furtherance of our dispute regarding track noise; this mandate expires on 14^th April 2025.

 

Some progress has been made in this matter and LUL has accelerated rail grinding and other engineering programmes on the line. Our Trains Tier 2 (Safety Council) reps have consulted members and report that there is support to re-ballot members to ensure that this progress continues.

 

In line with the reports from our T2 and local reps, your lead officer has recommended that we commence this re-ballot.

 

            At its meeting on 27^th February 2025, your NEC resolved as follows:

 

            That we note the report from the Lead Officer.

 

            Accordingly, we instruct the General Secretary to commence a ballot of affected members under the same terms as the current mandate.

 

            Branch and affected members to be informed by email and text.

 

            The re-ballot of members will take place between Tuesday 11^th March and Tuesday 1^st April.
