Dear Colleague,
MAIDA HILL TUNNEL
Significant safety concerns have been raised by our Thames River Branch with regards to using the Maida Hill Tunnel by increasing numbers of small pleasure craft using the tunnel whist not being suitably experienced or trained in working such a stretch of waterway. Your National Executive Committee have agreed the following;
We note the resolution from our Thames River Branch and the contents contained in it. We therefore instruct the General Secretary to carry out the wish of the resolution and arrange a meeting with the Lead Officer, The Branch and The Canal and River Trust to discuss the use issues of small leisure craft using the Maida Hill Tunnel. All Maritime Branches to be informed.
I am in the process of carrying out those instructions.
Mick Cash
General Secretary
