MTR ELIZABETH LINE: LONE WORKING
I write further to head office circular NP/187/24 with an update on actions taken recently in respect to lone working on MTR Elizabeth Line after having received a reply from the Lead Officer and from the Company. Your NEC
(National Executive Committee) met on the following occasions to consider these matters:
At its meeting on 8th August 2024, your NEC met to consider a reply from the Company and the Lead Officer - and in respect to this correspondence adopted the following report:
We note the report from the Lead Officer and the correspondence from the company.
Accordingly, we instruct the General Secretary to advance this matter through the machinery of negotiation and place further updates before this NEC.
Additionally, we refer the correspondence on the management of lone working to our Health and Safety subcommittee for examination and report.
Relevant members, branches and regional council are to be advised by text and email.
At its meeting on 15th August 2024, your NEC noted and adopted the following report from its Health and Safety subcommittee from then they met to consider the NEC referral as in decision above “we refer the correspondence on the management of lone working to our Health and Safety subcommittee for examination and report”. In respect to this the report adopted by your NEC is as follows:
We note the correspondence from MTR Elizabeth Line.
We instruct the General Secretary to request of the Lead Officer that he take up any outstanding issues arising from the East London Rail branch resolution with the Company - particularly focusing on ensuring that there are adequate staffing levels after 23.00hours.
The General Secretary is instructed to request that the Lead Officer provides an update report, to be placed before this NEC for our consideration.
