Dear Colleague,

NATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ADVISORY CONFERENCE, 23rd AND 24th FEBRUARY, 2021 – POST CONFERENCE CIRCULAR

Further to Head Office Circular NP/65/21, dated 22nd February 2021, I attach to this Circular the feedback and expenses claim forms; I would be grateful if attendees would return one or both at your earliest convenience if you have not already done so.

Let me take this opportunity to thank all delegates, guests, tutors, officials and staff for making this conference such as successful one in these unusual times.

Your National Health and Safety Advisory Committee met on 24th March to review the Conference and make initial plans for the 2022 Conference.

The Committee will next meet in September, provisionally to be on 13th and 14th September in Doncaster (subject to restrictions in place at the time). The second day of this meeting will consider the theme for the 2022 Conference.

It was agreed by the Advisory Committee to proceed on the basis that the 2022 Conference will be a hybrid one- i.e. there will be a physical conference in Doncaster with a live Zoom feed (probably via a big screen) to allow participation from those unable to attend in person. This also leaves the option open for the Conference to revert to being fully digital should restrictions again be in place next February.

If it is possible to hold a hybrid conference, it is hoped that the training sessions will be undertaken physically rather than digitally.

The Committee will consider further comments in the feedback forms, but initial thoughts are that the theme should revolve around the area of safety implications post-Covid, including anxiety, stress, pressure, use of new technologies, implications for working from home- such as equipment (including chairs), work station set-up and Risk Assessments.

Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of relevant members.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
