Network Rail – Roles and Responsibilities Programme

Further to the Head Office Circular NP/086/15, 14th May 2015 further reports on this matter have been considered by the General Grades Committee who have noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee.

We note the excellent work carried out by our East Midlands Representatives. We note the further concessions and improvements made by the company:

•    To address 3G signal issues a hierarchy of locations to take a permit live will be developed.
•    To address IT Skills issues a systematic check of devices to ensure all users have the necessary applications and can demonstrate their ability to use the app.
•    To address issues around the Mitie call centre RMT and the company will jointly review the scripts provided to Mitie.
•    Section Managers will be re-briefed on the SWL briefing. Route conversations will then be utilised to ensure a more consistent brief is delivered to relevant staff.
•    Distances, terms and definitions will be reviewed and updated.
•    To address planning issues the company will conduct a joint audit of plans.

A further report, following the next four weekly review, to be placed back in front of this General Grades Committee.

Branches and Regional Councils be advised.
