Network Rail – S & T Working at Height Steering Group

There has been a series of opportunities for the steering group to observe the safe recovery process of a worker who is harnessed up and involved in an incident or accident. The National Executive Committee have noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee:

We note the reports on file and echo the sentiments of our representatives that, even at this level of engagement with the union, the company seem incapable of demonstrating a commitment to the safety of our members. The General Secretary is instructed to write to the Network Rail Chief Executive expressing our concerns.
We further note the next meeting of the Steering Group is due to take place on 23rd June 2017 and further instruct the General Secretary to place a report on this meeting in front of this National Executive Committee.
Branches and Regional Councils be advised.
