Network Rail – Safety Coaches, Leaders, Mentors & Champions

I am writing to advise you of recent reports from the NR Lead Safety Reps on the LNE Route with regards to a reduction of the Network Rail Workforce Safety Advisors and replacing them with unqualified safety staff. The General Grades Committee have noted and adopted the following report.

“We note the report on file and the company’s continued attempts to undermine approved Safety Management by dismissing professional health and safety support and replacing them with unaccredited and untrained volunteers. We instruct the General Secretary to write to the company outlining our concerns and total opposition to this process. The response to be placed back in front of this General Grades Committee.

Branches and Regional Councils be advised.”

I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep you informed of any further developments. Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of all relevant members.
