Dear Colleague,

NETWORK RAIL – DEGRADED MODE WORKING SYSTEM (DMWS)

Following a formal request from Network Rail for support from RMT in the operational trial of DMWS which is currently scheduled to commence in late 2022, on 22nd September 2020 your National Executive Committee noted and adopted the following report from its Health and Safety Sub-committee:

We note the letter on file from Network Rail.

The General Secretary is instructed to write to Network Rail accepting its invitation to engage in the Degraded Mode Working System project through the DMWS Industry Working Group (DIWG).

The General Secretary is further instructed to write to the Lead Union Health and Safety Representatives in order to determine and then advise the representatives best placed to engage with Network Rail as this develops.

I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep you informed of developments. Please make the contents of this Circular available to all appropriate members.
