NETWORK RAIL DRUG & ALCOHOL STANDARD WORKING GROUP

Further to Head Office Circular NP/196/21, dated 4th July, 2021, following receipt of a report from the RMT Lead Officer, at its meeting on 17th August, 2021, your National Executive Committee (NEC) noted and adopted the following report from its Health and Safety Sub-committee:

We note the correspondence from the Lead Officer on file.

The General Secretary is instructed, in conjunction with the Lead Officer, to monitor this situation to ensure that full consultation take place over proposed changes to the companies Drug and Alcohol policy and to ensure that this consultation takes place in both health and safety and industrial negotiating structures.

The General Secretary is instructed to write to NR explaining our position as regards consultation.

The General Secretary is also instructed to place this item on the September meeting of the National Council and to include any updates.

Any updates to be placed before this NEC.

Branches and Regional Councils to be informed.
