ALL REGIONAL COUNCILS

Dear Colleague

Network Rail Electrical Safety Delivery Programme

Further to Head Office Circular NP/033/16 this matter was considered again by your National Executive Committee who have noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee:

We note the reports on file and instruct the General Secretary to inform the company we have no objection to their Circuit Main Short Device and this project can now proceed to Area consultation.

With regard to the request for additional RMT representatives we instruct the General Secretary to arrange for this matter to be discussed at the National Executive Committee/Lead Union Health and Safety Representatives quarterly meeting scheduled for 4th July 2017 and for that group to propose a number of names to be ratified by this National Executive Committee. Our representatives on these additional groups should be two Health and Safety Reps and one industrial representative.

Branches and Regional Councils be advised.

In consideration of the Circuit Main Short Device proposal the National Executive Committee were advised that there were no changes to job descriptions, no organisational changes, no sizing changes for those currently carrying out strapping work, and no expected changes to maintenance team size.

I am acting in accordance with these instructions

Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of all relevant members.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
