NETWORK RAIL - SENTINEL SCHEME

On giving consideration to a report of the Lead Officer for Network Rail on the outcomes of a meeting with the company the General Grades Committee noted and adopted the following resolution from their Health and Safety Sub-committee:

We note the report on file and the conclusions of our representatives. The General Secretary is instructed to advise the company that as long as the lone worker app remains voluntary and that no pressure is applied to individual members of staff then this could be a valuable tool to protect our members.

With regard to Sentinel II we note that our concerns have been articulated to the company and are to be addressed at a further meeting on 29th July 2014. The General Secretary is further instructed to provide a report of that meeting.    Branches and Regional Councils be advised.

I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep you informed of developments with this case.
