NETWORK RAIL – SOUTHERN REGION OPEN LINE WALKING
DOCUMENT

Following sight of a document on Open Line Walking from Network Rail’s Southern Region, your National Executive Committee, at its meeting on 26th August, noted and adopted the following report from its Health and Safety Sub-committee:

That we note the document on file and the comments and clarifications that have been sought by our Representatives.

We are also concerned that this is a Regional document and are of the view that a national document is required so that the highest standards and best practice are achieved across the network. Therefore, the General Secretary is instructed to request a meeting on this matter at a national level, including our Lead Officer and national representatives, in order to clarify and agree a document applicable across the network.

I am acting in accordance with this instruction and will keep you advised of developments.
