NETWORK RAIL – VEHICLE SPEED WARNING SYSTEM (VSWS)
Following receipt of a letter from Network Rail confirming that it was not its intention to depart from the principles of fair culture, Network Rail confirmed it would like to resolve this with RMT constructively and would like to have a meeting with us to do this. In the meantime, prior to this proposed meeting, it was confirmed that Network Rail would not apply the new measures that have been proposed in the event of a speeding breach.
At its meeting on 6th April, your National Executive Committee (NEC) adopted the following resolution:
Referring to decision NWW, 9th March 2021, and note the correspondence from the company advising they will pause the implementation of Vehicle Speed Warning System pending further discussion. We instruct the General Secretary to keep this NEC updated on this issue.
Relevant Reps, Branches & Regional Councils to be advised.
I am acting in accordance with this instruction.
