Dear Colleague,
NETWORK RAIL – VEHICLE SPEED WARNING SYSTEM (VSWS)
Further to Head Office Circular NP/179/21, date 26th May 2021, on 28th May Network Rail wrote to me confirming that it had implemented a revised approach to speeding on 29th March 2021.
Your National Executive Committee, at its meeting on 24th June 2021, resolved as follows:
That we note the correspondence from the company and are disappointed that Network Rail are imposing this policy on our members. The General Secretary is instructed to write to Network Rail and declare a dispute and request an urgent avoidance of dispute meeting. Also as per the collective bargaining agreement we demand the company withdraws its imposition of new arrangements and revert to the previous arrangement.
Relevant Reps, Branches and Regional Councils to be advised.
I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep members advised of any developments.
Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of relevant members.
Yours sincerely
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
