Dear Colleague,

NETWORK RAIL – VEHICLE SPEED WARNING SYSTEM (VSWS)

Further to Head Office Circular NP/112/21, following correspondence between the Lead Union Health and Safety Representative and the Company, at its meeting on 25th May 2021 your National Executive Committee noted and adopted the following report from its Health and Safety Sub-committee:
We note the correspondence between the Lead Union Health and Safety Representative and the company.

The General Secretary is instructed to write to the company stating that there is no formal agreement on any new process. Further, to inform the company that any implementation of an unagreed process will create a dispute with this union. Until an agreement is reached there should be no change in the company’s approach and speeding offences should remain within the Fair Culture Process.

Branches and Regional Councils to be advised.

I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep members advised of any developments.
