NETWORK RAIL – VEHICLE TRACKING DATA GOVERNANCE PANELS

RMT insisted that Network Rail commission an independent report from the Transport Research Laboratory into possible driver distraction. A follow up meeting in January agreed to set a timetable for meetings to deal with their findings. Your National Executive Committee have noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee:

“We note the report on file of a meeting between Network Rail and the RMT. We instruct the General Secretary to write to Network Rail seeking confirmation for a timetable of meetings as agreed at the meeting in January. The meeting to include but not be limited to the following: Data and findings, visibility, 3rd party license checks, data protection, rail fleet app developments. The Health and Safety Officer and Julian Thomas to attend. Branches and Regional Councils be advised.”

I am acting in accordance with this instruction. Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of relevant members.
