Dear Colleague

RAIL INDUSTRY CORONAVIRUS FORUM (RICF) - RAIL SERVICE RISKS (FURTHER UPDATE)

Further to Circular NP/107/20, dated 13th May 2020, the RICF has recently issued an undated paper introducing categories of “Clinically Extremely Vulnerable” and “Clinically Vulnerable”:

On 12th November, your National Executive Committee noted and adopted the report from its Health and Safety Sub-committee submits the following report:

We note the updated paper from the RICF following the decision to return to national lockdown. Little has changed for railway workers except for the introduction of two new categories of vulnerable individuals which have replaced the prior shielding arrangements. General Secretary is instructed to update RMT advice in line with the introduction of Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV) and Clinically Vulnerable (CV) categories. RMT representatives should be advised of the changes and that they should check that the new arrangements do not compromise the health and safety of our members.

Branches and Regional Councils be advised

I am acting in accordance with these instructions.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
