Dear Colleague,

RAIL SAFETY AND STANDARDS BOARD (RSSB) - LEADING HEALTH AND SAFETY ON BRITAIN’S RAILWAY (LHSBR) WEBINAR: WORK-RELATED VIOLENCE, 18th OCTOBER 2021

Work-related violence and trauma is one of the key risk areas described in the LHSBR strategy. To support the industry in identifying effective measures for tackling work-related violence, the Work-Related Violence Strategic Group (WRVSG) and RSSB undertook research on the topic.

Given the complex nature and causes of work-related violence, research clearly pointed out the need for frameworks and strategies to be put in place in order to tackle the issue. The research further identified one challenge for the industry: the lack of high-quality work-related violence data in order to support accurate risk assessment and intervention planning.

This webinar, one in a series about work-related violence, is entitled “How can reporting be improved?”

Its objectives are to present the rail industry with different views around reporting (what works, what does not, what can be improved), and to help attendants think about different options and how the industry can work together to improve reporting.

The webinar will be chaired by Peter Gibbons, Chief Security Officer at Network Rail and Chair of the WRVSG.

Panel speakers include Andy Mead, Head of Crime and Security, East Midlands Railway and Jonathan Havard, RMT Health and Safety Officer.

The webinar takes place on 18th October between 11.00 and 12.00.

You can register for the webinar here.

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch
General Secretary
