RAILWAY SUICIDES

AGM Item 12 called on the union to work with the relevant rail industry stakeholders to tackle the problems arising from suicides on the railway.

The National Executive Committee have noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee:

We note the resolution on file and further note that RMT are represented at the Rail Industry Suicide Stakeholder Group. Network Rail and others in the industry are working with Samaritans on tackling the issues around railway suicides. We instruct the General Secretary to organise a presentation on issues around this problem to the NEC.

Branches and Regional Councils be advised.
