REINTRODUCTION OF COVID-19 MEASURES – NORTHERN TRAINS

Further to Head Office Circular NP/28/22, dated 4th February, I can report that the ballot result was as follows:

Number of eligible votes: 39
Number of votes cast: 23 (59%)
Number voting “Yes” to strike action: 19 (48.7%)
Number voting “No”: 4

At its meeting today, your National Executive Committee resolved as follows:
We note the anti-trade union thresholds have been met and congratulate our members.
We also note that there is an agreed trial taking place which concludes 13th March 2022 and also note the report from our Lead Officer.
The General Secretary is instructed to liaise with ASLEF over this matter and place any further updates before the NEC.

I am acting in accordance with this instruction and will keep members appraised of any further developments.
