Reintroduction of Onboard Revenue LNER

Following concerns over fully updated Risk Assessments taking recent changes into account and the looking after the safety, health and wellbeing of our members, your National Executive Committee (NEC) agreed the following resolution at its meeting on 21st January:

We note the report received from our RMT On Board Company Council and Lead Safety Rep for LNER, also the correspondence from the Lead Officer.

We recognise and thank the reps for their hard work in these trying circumstances. Ongoing monitoring and regular reviews are underway. Taking into account the latest developments and mutations of various strains of Covid-19, our reps are regularly reminding our members of their rights to cease conducting revenue duties should they feel unsafe. We are also aware that we are still awaiting a response from LNER to correspondence sent.

Therefore, we instruct the General Secretary to arrange an urgent meeting with relevant representatives, Lead Officer, Senior Assistant General Secretary and our NEC members in order to receive an update on the latest position.

I am acting in accordance with these instructions.

Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of relevant members.
