RSSB – T1230 FATIGUE FRIENDLY ROSTERS

Your National Executive Committee (NEC) met on 25th May 2021, when it met to consider a report from its Health and Safety Sub-committee. This followed a meeting to discuss the T1230 Fatigue-friendly rosters project and the RSSB’s refusal to include RMT representatives in the steering group for this project. In connection with this the NEC adopted the following resolution:

We instruct the General Secretary to write to RSSB to note RMT’s disappointment at its decision to restrict RMT participation in the T1230 project Steering Group.

Further, that its suggested alternative of dialogue with RMT reps from NR and TOCs via email is not a workable alternative and that its intransigence on this threatens RMT support and buy-in for the project in the longer term.

I am acting in accordance with this instruction and will keep you advised of developments.
