SAFETY RELATED INCIDENTS AND SIGNALLER WORKLOAD INCREASE CAUSED BY AUTOMATIC ROUTE SETTING (ARS)

FOR THE ATTENTION OF ALL NETWORK RAIL EMPLOYEES

Following consideration of a report of a meeting between RMT and Network Rail, your National Executive Committee, at its meeting on 21st April, resolved as follows:

That we note the report on file from the Lead Officer and that a meeting between the SAGS, and a National Operations Council representative as well as our Automatic Route Setting expert has taken place.

The General Secretary is instructed to arrange a meeting between the above-mentioned representatives along with the SAGS and Network Rail so that we can discuss the Network Rail response to the Office of Rail Regulation’s concerns.

Additionally, a meeting is to be convened between or Health & Safety and Communications departments to discuss our approach to the matter.

I am acting in accordance with these instructions.
