Dear Colleague,

 

NETWORK RAIL – SIGNALLER VERIFICATION FOR LINE BLOCKAGES

 

I have received correspondence from the Lead Officer as regards the issue of a second signaller verification for Line Blockages requesting that RMT consider a national view on this matter - leading to a national agreement with Network Rail (NR). 

 

At its meeting on 30^th March 2023, your National Executive Committee (NEC) noted and adopted the following report from its Health and Safety sub-committee:

 

We note the correspondence from the Lead Officer as regards the issue of        second signaller verification for line blockages.

We instruct the General Secretary to arrange a joint meeting with NEC and representatives from the three NR national councils to develop a national position on this question.

I am acting in line with these instructions.

 

Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of relevant members.
