SIGNALLING IRREGULARITIES AT NEASDEN DEPOT

Further to Head Office Circular NP/019/13, 22^nd January 2013 I am writing to update you on developments with this case.

A response from London Underground to our letter to the company failed to satisfy the General Grades Committee who then took the following Decision:

“We note the correspondence from London Underground Ltd, and note that pressure applied by this union appears to be making the company take this matter more seriously.

However, we do not accept that mitigations make this situation safe or acceptable, and insist on it being rectified.

Having spoken with our representative, we note that Thales is due to carry out a new ‘software drop’ over the first weekend in March. If this does not resolve the problem to the satisfaction of our representative, we will ballot our members for industrial action.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to prepare a ballot matrix of our service control members in the train movements room at Neasden depot, and to place this matter in front of us with a report from our service control health and safety representative during the week commencing Monday 4 March.

London Transport Regional Council, Branches and Service Control Representatives to be advised.”

I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep you informed of developments with this case.
