Signalling Irregularities at Neasden Depot

Dear Colleague

SIGNALLING IRREGULARITIES AT NEASDEN DEPOT

Having been made aware of concerns over LUL’s apparent inability to undertake repairs and upgrades to the signalling system at Neasden Depot the General Grades Committee have carried the following resolution:

We note the resolution from our Neasden branch and share our branch’s concern at London Underground Ltd’s failure to compel its contractor, Thales, to repair signalling irregularities at Neasden Depot. This is not an acceptable way for the company to conduct its upgrades, not only causing problems for our members at work but also potentially endangering both staff and passengers.

In line with the resolution, we therefore instruct the General Secretary to advise LUL as a matter of urgency that should the signalling irregularities not be repaired by the end of January 2013, this union will be in dispute and will take whatever action is necessary to enforce these repairs, which may include industrial action and publicising this situation.

London Transport Regional Council, Branches and Revenue Control representatives to be advised.

I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep you advised with developments in this case. Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of relevant members.

Yours sincerely

Bob Crow

General Secretary
