Dear Colleague
SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY – IMPACT OF COVID-19
Our Regional Officer for South Western Railway (SWR) provided a report raising several concerns around the company’s response to Covid 19. In particular he raised concerns around risk assessments for electronic whistles, Guidance on Customer Assistance, re-imbursement for anti-body tests and Self Dispatch at Waterloo Station.
The report was submitted to the National Executive Committee who noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee:
We note the report on file from the Regional Officer. We instruct the General Secretary to write to SWR (i) to explain the processes of the Risk Assessments of Electronic Whistles and (ii) demanding that no discussions on Customer Assistant guidance including risk assessments are to take place until this is received through the RICF. The General Secretary is also instructed to raise, at the RICF, the issue of reimbursement of the cost of antibody tests should an individual request one.
We further not that the Self Dispatch Waterloo 1-6 matter has now been resolved.
Replies to be placed in front of this National Executive Committee.
Branches and Regional Councils be advised.
I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep you updated on developments.
Yours sincerely
Mick Cash
General Secretary
