Further to Head Office Circular NP/118/15, 7th July 2015, I am writing to update you on progress on this important matter. The General Grades Committee have noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee.

We note the information provided by the company with regard to the assessment of gradients and the consequent effect on the risk assessment as to when “Rearguard” will be mandated for use. Further we note the opinions of our representatives that our demands have now been met in this case. As a result of this we instruct the General Secretary to close this file while at the same time opening a new file “Vortok Rearguard Roll-out”.

This General Grades Committee wishes to place on record our thanks, on behalf of the membership to our Lancaster Branch and our LNW North Area Health and Safety Reps for their continued efforts on this case.

I am acting in accordance with those instructions and will keep you informed of any further developments with this case.
