TRAFFIC OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT STANDARDS COMMITTEE (TOM SC)
Further to Head Office Circular NP/322/13, 18th November 2013 the issue of train dispatch by radio was raised with our Lead Officer and Company Council for Chiltern Railways and a further report on this matter was submitted to the General Grades Committee (GGC). The GGC have noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee:
We note the report on file from our Regional Organiser and Company Council. We instruct the General Secretary to write to the company and RSSB outlining our concerns as indicated in the report and that we are opposed to this process. We further instruct the General Secretary to resolve this issue by insisting that the company deal effectively with the problems with the current system and not by undermining a tried and tested and safe working practice.
Branches and Regional Councils be advised.
I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep you informed of developments with this case.
