VORTOK WARNING SYSTEM & THE 019+ STANDARD

The Vortok warning system when utilised can give additional safety security and warning. Carlisle City Branch asks for its mandatory use when gradients are identified at the planning stage. Your National Executive Committee have noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee:

“We note the resolution on file from our Carlisle City Branch and completely support and endorse their call for the mandatory application of the Vortok secondary warning system in the new 019+ Standard where a gradient is identified and other protection is not available. Accordingly the General Secretary is instructed to raise this matter directly with Network Rail. Branches and Regional Councils to be informed.”
