To: The Secretary All Branches & Regional Councils
Dear Colleagues,
HULL TRAINS SECTION OF THE RAILWAYS PENSION SCHEME (RPS)
I refer to my previous Circular, NP/261/21, 22th July 2021, I can advise you that following correspondence from management they have informed the RMT that while they are still considering their options, in relation to closing the Hull Trains section of the RPS to future accrual, the pension scheme remains open with no clear date in mind to close it.
While their proposal to close the pension scheme remains on the employers agenda the fact that management have stated that the scheme remains open your National Executive Committee in consideration have made the decision to call off the strike action to take place on Sunday 8th August 2021 so that they can consider in more detail recent developments.
However, I would advise that the overtime and rest day working bans remain in place as well as the intended strike days already scheduled to take place until further consideration has been given later next week.
To be clear, members remain instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:-
0001 Hours and 2359 Hours on Sunday 15th August 2021
0001 Hours and 2359 Hours on Sunday 22nd August 2021
0001 Hours and 2359 Hours on Sunday 29th August 2021
Additionally, the continuous rest day working and overtime ban will continue.
I will keep you fully advised on any further developments.
