My Ref: MRP 1/8/9

16th July 2021

Circular Num: NP/254/2021

To: The Secretary All Branches & Regional Councils

Dear Colleagues,

HULL TRAINS SECTION OF THE RAILWAYS PENSION SCHEME (RPS)

I refer to my previous Circular, NP/244/21, 7th July 2021, following further talks held on Friday 16th July 2021 with conciliation service ACAS I can advise that despite your representatives attempts to resolve the pensions dispute amicably with management it is with regret that I must advise you that these discussions have broken down without progress.

However, while our members are due to take strike action this coming Sunday, 18th July 2021, your representatives are of the opinion that that this industrial action should be suspended to allow talks to take place between First Group, the RMT General Secretary and our representatives.

In consideration your National Executive Committee on 16th July 2021 have agreed to suspend all industrial action until 2nd August 2021.

To be clear, members remain instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:-

0001 Hours and 2359 Hours on Sunday 8th August 2021
0001 Hours and 2359 Hours on Sunday 15th August 2021
0001 Hours and 2359 Hours on Sunday 22nd August 2021
0001 Hours and 2359 Hours on Sunday 29th August 2021

Additionally, the continuous rest day working and overtime ban will restart from 00.01 hours on Monday 2nd August 2021 and will continue until further notice.

The RMT remains fully committed in defending our members rights to a decent pension in retirement and will do everything in its power to protect our members final salary pension rights.

I will keep you fully advised on any further developments.

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch
General Secretary
