Dear Colleagues,

HULL TRAINS SECTION OF THE RAILWAYS PENSION SCHEME (RPS) – BALLOT RESULT

I refer to my previous Circular, NP/160/21, 18th May 2021, I can advice that the ballot has now closed and the result has been considered by your National Executive Committee who have made the following report on 21st May 2021:

“That we note the result of the Ballot and that they meet the thresholds for industrial action. The results are as follows:

Are you prepared to take strike action?

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot: 41
Number of votes cast in the ballot: 29
Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question: 26
Number of individuals answering “No” to the question: 3
Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned: 0

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot: 41
Number of votes cast in the ballot: 29
Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question: 27
Number of individuals answering “No” to the question: 2
Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned: 0

We congratulate our members in returning a strong mandate to take industrial action.

We instruct the General secretary to arrange a meeting as a matter of urgency with the Lead Officer, the NEC and Affected Members.

Relevant Regional Councils, Branches, and Members to be informed.”
