Dear colleagues,

Merchant Navy Ratings Pension Fund (MNRPF) - Pensioner Trustee

Please be advised that the following resolution was submitted by the Liverpool Shipping Branch:

“We call upon the RMT Executive and General Secretary to support status quo for the nomination and election of the pensioner trustee.

This was hard fought for through the Royal Court of Justice in 2001.”

In consideration your National Executive Committee made the following decision on 1st November 2018:

“That we note the resolution on file from the Liverpool Shipping Branch and the sentiments contained within.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to arrange a meeting with the RMT Merchant Navy Ratings Pension Fund Trustees so that the NEC and National Secretary can discuss this matter.

All Branches and Regional Councils to be informed”

As instructed a meeting is being arranged and I will keep you informed of developments.
