My Ref: MRP 32/1 28th April 2016
Circular Num: NP/128/16
To: The Secretary All Branches, Regional Councils,
and Retired Member Branches
Dear Colleagues,
National Pensioners Convention (NPC) - Disability Living Allowance Campaign Resolution
I refer to the following resolution submitted and agreed at the 2015 Retired Members Advisory Conference:
“As a consequence of working people being required to work longer before receiving the state pension, this BDC calls upon the RMT to support by whatever means possible the NPC’s campaign for the Disability Living Allowance to be paid at whatever age that might be to anybody who is registered disabled.”
Following correspondence between the NPC and the RMT, the National Executive Committee on 10th March 2016 agreed to support this campaign.
The NPC has requested that this union writes to the Secretary of State for Works and Pensions, that this campaign is published as wide as possible, and that we encourage our members to sign an online petition in relation to Attendance Allowance which is an element of the Disability Living Allowance.
Please find attached with this circular the NPC’s response to the Governments “The provisional Local Government Finance Settlement” consultation paper, and the RMT’s letter to Secretary of State for Works and Pensions in respect of the Attendance Allowance.
I would also encourage all members, families and friends to sign the online petition in relation to the attack on the Attendance Allowance. The petition runs until 25th July 2016 and the link can be found below.

Thank you for your support and I will keep you updated on developments.
Yours sincerely,
Mick Cash
