Dear Colleagues,

PENSIONS AND PASSES – TUBE LINES

I refer to my previous Circular NP/264/13, 4th October 2013, as reported the RMT have agreed to participate in the Joint Working Party (JWP) to find away to resolve the pension and travel passes issue.

Following the first JWP meeting held on 9th October 2013 a report was placed in front of the General Grades Committee on 15th October 2013 for consideration. The following was made:

“We note the report from our Assistant General Secretary, and the meetings with the company on 10 October and our representatives on 11 October.

We note that our participation in the working party is enabling us to find out more about the employer’s plans for how our equal pensions and passes will be funded. We instruct the General Secretary to place regular reports and information in front of us.

We instruct the General Secretary to advise Tube Lines that we will identify possible savings if it allows us full access to its financial information.

We further instruct the General Secretary to draft a new issue of a newsletter for Tube Lines members to keep them informed of the situation.

London Transport Regional Council, branches and Tube Lines representatives to be advised.”
