PENSIONS AND PASSES – TUBE LINES
I refer to my previous Circular NP/287/13, 17th October 2013, following correspondence received by the RMT that management intend to finance our members claim for equal pensions and travel passes by making job cuts the following decision was made by the General Grade Committee on 18th December 2013:
“We note that this dispute remains unresolved. We note with concern that evidence has emerged that the employer(s) intend to finance equal pensions and passes by cutting jobs. We reiterate our stance that RMT will not sacrifice jobs to fund a simple demand for equality. Our members are entitled to equal pensions and passes without having to pay for this through loss of jobs.
We instruct the General Secretary to ensure that a meeting of our Tube Lines representatives is held to discuss this dispute and proposals for pursuing it, and to place a report of this discussion in front of us on or before 10 January 2014.
London Transport Regional Council, branches and Tube Lines representatives to be advised.”
