TUPE Transfer Babcock Rail to FES Facilities - Membership of the Railways Pension Scheme

TUPE TRANSFER BABCOCK RAIL TO FES FACILITIES - MEMBERSHIP OF THE RAILWAYS PENSION SCHEME

Following the TUPE transfer of employees from Babcock Rail to FES Facilities concern was raised by RMT representatives that there was a delay in Railways Pension Scheme (RPS) contributions being deducted from the affected member’s salaries.

The RMT wrote to FES, the Chairman of the RPS Trustee Board and RPMI, the RPS administrators, on 9^th August 2012 requesting that this issue is resolved as quickly as possible to avoid members having to pay excessive contribution arrears.

A letter from RPMI was received on 20^th August 2012 which confirms that contributions will soon be collected from both members and the employer and that the necessary arrangements are being made to collect arrears.

It is hoped that this issue is now resolved but the RMT will continue to monitor this situation.
