Dear Colleague
A NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION TO FIGHT TO DEFEND JOBS, PAY AND PENSIONS
As you will be aware the RMT National Executive Committee has recently taken a decision that sets the Union up for a campaign across Network Rail and the majority of Train Operating Companies (predominately those England-based TOCs who come under the umbrella of the Rail Industry Recovery Group) on members’ pay, jobs, conditions and pensions.
The Union set out to members in a message before Christmas how the pay freeze is costing workers thousands of pounds while the rail bosses makes hundreds of millions in profits.
A further message has this week been sent to all relevant members via email and text. The message emphasizes the importance of everyone being in the Union to put us in the strongest position to fight for justice and calls on members to make a New Year’s resolution to defend jobs, pay and pensions by asking colleagues to join the RMT.
Please check that your members are receiving these communications and that we have their up-to-date contact details. Please also continue to share campaign materials on social media and in workplaces. They are available to download online or can be ordered via email at info@rmt.org.uk.
Let’s make 2022 the year we win the campaign to defend jobs, pay and pensions.
Yours sincerely
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
