Dear Colleague,

 

BLACK AND ETHNIC MINORITY MEMBERS’ SURVEY

The following resolution sent by our B&EMM Conference was passed unanimously at AGM:

“That this conference requests the National Executive to instruct the General Secretary to carry out a survey of all its B&EMM Members regarding their experiences of the internal structures of the RMT.  The terms of reference of this survey is aimed at understanding and producing an increased level of participation in our internal structures and to ensure we are fully inclusive and diverse.

The contents of this survey to be agreed with the B&EMM Advisory Committee prior to it being dispatched.”

The NEC noted and adopted the following report from the Equal Rights Sub-Committee (Decision 1677, September 2023):

“That we note the AGM decision and also the work of the TUC anti-racism taskforce and instruct the General Secretary to take up in line with the resolution and with reference to the TUC anti-racism report.”
