Dear Colleague,
Cleaners’ Charter and new campaign report
This year’s NIOC for Cleaning Grades saw the official launch of the new, updated Cleaners’ Charter. This is a vital campaigning document, put together by the union in consultation with its Cleaning Grades Liaison Committee. The Charter summarises our key campaigning demands and shows that RMT, an industrial, all grades union, is serious about fighting for the essential keyworkers who keep our public transport safe and hygienic to use.
Every branch should be using this charter to recruit and organise among our cleaning grades. You can download the charter here: https://bit.ly/3yhuMhD
To order hard copies, email j.white@rmt.org.uk.
The conference also saw the launch of a new campaigning report, Why a clean railway must mean an end to outsourcing. This uses new research to show that insourcing would be better for public transport as well as for cleaners. You can download this document here:

Please bring these resources to the attention of your cleaning grades members.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
