Day-mer Festival – London

Head Office Circular No. NP/62/18

To the Secretary, all Branches and Regional Councils
27th March 2018

Dear Colleagues

Day-mer Festival – London,

Day-mer is a Turkish and Kurdish organisation with an objective around integration under the banner of “common struggle against common issues”. In this sense they are active in British politics and act as a bridge between the Turkish/Kurdish community and the British working class.

Day-mer has been organising a Culture and Arts Festival for the past 28 years in Hackney and North London. It is currently the longest running festival in Hackney and one of the best-known festivals in London.

As well trade unions such as NUT, RMT, PCS and FBU the festival has also been supported by SERTUC.

The festival runs from 1 June with various events to 1 July when the main event of the festival will take place in Clissold Park, London, N16 including music, dance groups and speakers from political parties and trade unions.

RMT is supporting the festival and members are encouraged to attend for what promises to be an informative and enjoyable event.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
