Demand an Orgreave inquiry for truth and justice

The Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign, which the RMT supports, is campaigning for an independent public inquiry into the policing of events at Orgreave on 18th June 1984 which involved police brutality against striking miners and the wrongful arrest and false prosecution of miners. The trial eventually collapsed after it transpired that police lied in court and police statements were falsified.

In 2016 the then Home Secretary Amber Rudd announced there would be no enquiry into Orgreave. The Orgreave Truth and Justice campaign continues to push for an independent public inquiry and is asking individuals to write to the current Home Secretary Priti Patel, to demand this.
