Dear Colleague,

ETF SURVEY ON WORKPLACE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

One of the key priorities of the European Transport Federation’s Gender Equality action plan is to fight workplace violence against women in transport.  Transport is said to be one of the sectors with the worst record in this area and the economic crisis has left women transport workers even more exposed to violence whilst at work. However there is a lack of research data at European level. Detailed data on women transport workers’ experiences of workplace violence is needed in order to better understand the phenomenon and to address this problem. In order to fill this gap, the ETF Women’s Committee has launched an on-line survey.

The survey targets women workers from all transport sectors in Europe and will be open until 28 February 2017. The results will be presented at the ETF Women’s Conference in May 2017.  The RMT is playing its part and is contacting female members to encourage them to fill in the survey:

Please do support this survey and encourage female members to fill it in.  Should you have any queries please contact our Equal Opportunities Officer, Jess Webb, on j.webb@rmt.org.uk or t:020 7529 8821.

Yours sincerely,

Mick Cash
