Justice for Rail Cleaners – Demonstration outside Parliament, 10.45am, 23rd February

In line with our Cleaners Are Essential campaign, RMT is stepping up its fight for justice for rail cleaners.

On 23rd February, RMT members working for Churchill on Thameslink, Southern, Great Northern, Southeastern, HS1 and Eurostar will be taking strike action. The following day cleaners who work for Atalian Servest on Avanti West Coast services will begin the first of two 48 hour strikes.

And we’re taking the campaign to parliament. With the government now tightly controlling train operating company contracts, we need them to feel the anger of our members.

RMT members will be assembling at 10.45am sharp on 23rd February opposite Old Palace Yard, which is outside the House of Commons, where we will be making sure that MPs inside know we’re there.

Please ensure that all your cleaning grades members are aware of this demonstration and if your branch can support it by sending people and banners, please do so. Our cleaning grades members need the full solidarity of our industrial union.
