DO NOT MISS THESE SPECIAL EVENTS

Join RMT members, as well as friends and family, at these great social and commemorative events this year. Merthyr Rising, the RMT and Cuba Solidarity Campaign Garden Party, the Durham Miners' Gala, the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival and the Burston Strike School Rally are all chances to celebrate RMT and other unions' history and recommit to preserving and extending our legacy:

Merthyr Rising – in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, marks one of the first organised workers uprising in 1831. The dates for 2020 have not yet been confirmed, but will be shared when they become available. http://www.merthyrrising.uk/

The 18th RMT and Cuba Solidarity Campaign Garden Party is taking place on Wednesday 10th June 2020 at Maritime House, Clapham. More details, including how to order tickets, will be circulated to you in advance.

The 136th Durham Miners’ Gala will be held on Saturday 11th July 2020.
Marching from the Market Place to the Racecourse, with the Big Meeting starting at 1pm – as always, this will include speeches from a number of key speakers. https://www.friendsofdurhamminersgala.org/gala_information

Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival - in Dorset over the weekend of Friday 17th - Sunday 19st July 2020. Includes commemorative events, music (including marching bands), kids' activities and speakers - with the main march and rally taking place on the Sunday. https://www.tolpuddlemartyrs.org.uk/festival

Burston Strike School Rally - in Burston, Norfolk on Sunday 6th September 2020. This event celebrates the longest running strike in history - there will be music, speakers and stalls. https://burstonstrikeschool.co.uk/rally2020/
