King’s Cross Fire Anniversary 18 November

RMT event CANCELLED as union to be represented at official commemorative event

Further to the circular above I can advise you that the RMT will now be represented at the official commemorative ceremony which has been organised by LUL in conjunction with the London Fire Brigade, BTP, Met Police, NHS England, London Ambulance Service and Camden Council.

As your union will be now be represented at the above which will be taking place at the same time as it was intended to hold our event it has been felt appropriate to cancel the RMT event.

I can advise you however that the union will still be briefing the media and politicians about the need to remain ever vigilant in respect of the safest possible staffing, standards and legislation to avoid a repeat of this tragedy.
