Dear colleague,

NATIONAL CAMPAIGN TO PROTECT CATERING

Following a resolution received from Plymouth No.1 Branch which highlighted the threats to rail catering grades and the need to defend catering provision and catering jobs across all Train Operating Companies, the National Executive Committee has adopted the following decision:

“That we note the resolution on file from our Plymouth No1 Branch and the sentiments contained therein.

Accordingly we instruct the General Secretary to initiate a campaign to defend catering provision across all TOC (Train Operating Companies) and the important jobs of our members.

To publicise the campaign using postcards/leaflets/badges and social media. Place an article in RMT news to highlight to the membership the importance of this service to our members and the travelling public.

Further to raise this with our Parliamentary group the importance of this service.
Finally to arrange a regional meetings and a mass meeting with our Catering Grades via Zoom to discuss this matter further.

Relevant Branches and Regional councils to be advised”
