29th March 2023

Dear Colleagues

New report launch - Public transport fit for the climate emergency – Manchester, 12thApril

Together with the TUC and other transport unions, the RMT has worked with Transport for Quality of Life to produce a new report ‘Public transport fit for the climate emergency’.

The report covers England and Wales (excluding London) with a breakdown for each region, showing the level of investment needed to bring public transport up to the standard required to meet carbon reduction targets, and the jobs and economic benefits this will bring.

The report will be used to assist us in making the case for increased investment in public transport.

The launch event for the report is taking place in Manchester on Wednesday 12th April from 12-2pm at the Mechanics Institute on Princess Street, M1 6DD. Speakers include Mayor Andy Burnham and RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch.

If you would like to attend you can register
here. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch

General Secretary
